The ČSSZ (Czech Social Security Administration) runs an online platform called ePortal, which gives people and businesses access to various services related to social security, pensions, sick leave, and employer obligations. It’s designed to reduce paperwork and avoid unnecessary visits to offices.
How to Log In
There’s no need to create an account from scratch. Instead, you use one of several existing digital identity methods—most of them tied to Czech eGovernment systems.
For Individuals
You can log in using:
Your data box (datová schránka) login
Bank identity (from banks like Česká spořitelna, ČSOB, Moneta, KB, etc.)
eObčanka (electronic ID card with chip)
NIA ID (username + password + SMS verification)
Mobile eGovernment key
Qualified certificate (e.g., Starcos chip card)
EU-recognized eID via the International Identification Gateway (IIG)
For Businesses
Companies also use their data box login. In some cases, you may also need to activate the credential (e.g., via Czech POINT) and grant data-access permission.
Acting on Behalf of Someone Else
It’s possible to authorize someone to act on your behalf—an employee, accountant, etc. This requires registering a power of attorney inside the portal. The authorized person logs in with their own credentials and chooses who they’re representing.
What You Can Do on the ePortal
Once logged in, the range of services depends on who you are (individual, employer, self-employed, etc.). Here’s a basic overview:
For Employees / Individuals
View your pension and social insurance history
Submit forms online (e.g., regarding pensions, sickness, maternity leave)
Access interactive PDFs with your data pre-filled
For Freelancers / OSVČ
Check paid sickness insurance contributions
View records of pension insurance advance payments
Download debt-free confirmations for self-employed
Track outstanding balances: unpaid premiums, penalties, and fines
Submit various insurance-related documents (e.g., registration, income reports)
Print and archive payment overviews for bookkeeping
For Employers
Submit required forms for employees (e.g., sickness notifications)
Get an overview of payment obligations
Manage reporting for multiple employees
For Healthcare Providers
Use the eNeschopenka system to manage electronic sick leave certificates
For Everyone
Fill and submit interactive forms (some require a digital certificate)
Download pre-filled data, save forms, or send them through the portal
Some forms can be submitted anonymously, but without access to your data
Tips and Caveats
You need to enable cookies and JavaScript in your browser for the portal to work.
Some login methods (e.g., NIA, bank identity) may require prior activation or setup.
Make sure powers of attorney are properly configured if you’re acting for someone else.
Submission options vary by form—some allow direct ePortal submission, others require a data box or certificate.
The site works, but isn’t always intuitive—expect a bit of trial and error if using it for the first time.
